More About The Meetinghouse
Nine years later the church was in need of further repairs, this time a pitch pine ceiling was installed along with a new pulpit which like the pews is still in use today. During the years many people have donated furniture to the church some dedicated to the memory of loved ones, some of it dedicated to those who made an impact and helped Drumreagh become the church it is today. For example: the communion table at the front of the church was the congregation’s donation to the memory of the Rev Samuel Wallace after his death in 1945. Many other gifts collection plates such as, bibles, clocks and other necessary pieces of equipment have been donated and were all valued very much at the time of the donation and still are valued greatly today, many of these gifts are still in use. |

The front of the church after the renovations in 1970 |
In 1961 it was agreed
that the church was in serious need of renovation due to the increasing
state of decay so the congregation began to collect funds for the
reconstruction of the church and work began in 1968. During this
time the walls of the church were re-plastered and both the interior
and exterior of the church was completely renovated. An extension
was also added on the west side of the church of which included
a minister’s room and a choir room. |
